Food Network expands programming and development team with hires

Discovery-owned culinary cable net the Food Network is growing its bicoastal leadership teams as it seeks to expand its programming slate.

Nick Briscoe has been named vice president of programming and development, with oversight of new series and specials, as well as current programming. He will report to Lynn Sadofsky, SVP of programming and development in New York.

Briscoe was previously a showrunner on a number of forthcoming Food Network titles produced by Big Fish, Rivr Media and BSTV. His previous credits include Cooks vs. Cons (Food Network), Cake Boss (TLC), Next Great Baker (TLC), Doodle Wars (NBC Universal) and TEACH: Tony Danza (A&E).

Meanwhile, Dana Volkmer-Jones joins the LA-based team as director of programming and development. He will report to VP of programming and development Patty Suh, who also recently joined the team in December. They will focus on developing new programming and talent, and work closely with the west coast production community.

Volkmer-Jones was previously senior director of development for the West Coast at Truly Original, where his credits include Teen Mom: Young Moms Club (MTV), Mancave (BET), and the upcoming Family Karma (Bravo). Before that, he was director of development for Machete Productions and Big Table Media.

For her part, Suh joined Food Network at the end of last year from East 112th Street Productions, where she served as VP of development. Before that, she served as VP and head of unscripted development at Keshet International and as director of development at Lighthearted Entertainment.

“The addition of Nick, Dana and Patty adds incredible depth to the already dynamic team we have here at Food Network,” said Food Network president Courtney White (pictured) in a statement. “Each brings with them a wealth of experience and unique skill set, and will enable us to further increase and enhance our development and programming slate as we continue to push the boundaries with our programming, maintaining a robust pipeline of innovative and exciting projects.”
